My boyfriend and I ordered food from this place because he had recently moved into the area. We saw the reviews online which were good and decided to try the place out. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and General Tso's Chicken, I tried a little of both and my boyfriend just ate his Kung Pao. A couple hours later, I am awoken out of a dead sleep with horrible stomach cramps like I have never felt before. I was in the bathroom for the next 2 hours with food and what not coming out of both ends (sorry to be so vulgar). I was in bed all day Sunday and Monday (thank goodness my office was closed Monday due to the snow because I would have missed work) and didn't feel 100% until Monday afternoon. I called the restaurant on Sunday while in bed and spoke to the person who answered the phone. They heard me out, took my information, and told me a manager would call me back. I waited until Wednesday when I decided to call the place back. I spoke to the Assistant Manager, Betty who told me that nobody received the phone call on Sunday so my complaint was invalid. After going back and forth with her she told me I couldn't speak to a Manager because he wasn't there and I could call back Friday evening when he was working. When I told her that was unacceptable she told me that if I had a problem I could file a complaint with Loudoun County Health Department, which I did. I really have to say the food was horrible and the service was even worse. If I owned a restaurant and served food that made a PAYING customer sick I would take it a bit more seriously. All I wanted was my money back since the meal was close to $37...which I didn't enjoy at ALL. I hope that you really reconsider eating here or you might spend the next couple hours in the bathroom!

This place has gone into the toilet since new management took over about 6 months ago. The orange chicken is terrible now, and the Hunan chicken is worse. The sauce is oily and odd, and the chicken is thin, rubbery, and oddly transparent. Doesn't even look like chicken. It's a shame since this place used to be pretty good. Look elsewhere now.

The staples rock...combo fried riced, combo lo mein, chicken with black bean, spring rolls have all been consistent and delicious. I have only done take-out, and it is always fast and the people there are always friendly and accomodating.

One sauce fits all. Beef with broccoli: brown sweet sticky sauce. Chicken with black beans: brown sweet sticky sauce. Chinese eggplant: brown sweet sticky sauce. Maybe throw in a bit of garlic or pepper but it basically all tastes the same. Totally low end run of the mill Chinese. Probably gets an extra star or two if you and your pals have it delivered to complement your nachos and wings when you're already half bombed watching the Redskins lose.

Been oridering take-out or delivery from them since we moved to Sterling in 2002. It's not The Best Chinese Food Ever, but it's very good for the price. The Old Man that runs the place is friendly as all get out, and you never have to wait long for delivery.Items we've had that were always good:-Egg Rolls-Wonton Soup-Eggdrop Soup-Spareribs-Chicken with Broccoli (spicey or regular)-Beef with Broccol-Pork, chicken Lo Mein-Sweet n Sour Chicken-Beef with AsparagusItsms to avoid-General Tsao's Chicken (for some reason they can't do it right, so stay away)-Chickn with Snow Peas (ditto)

We walked in around 2:45 to an emtpy restaurant - and one very grouchy-looking elderly female server (one of the owners, maybe?). Apparently, they offer lunch specials until 3pm, and we speculated that this was why she seemed so annoyed that we came in at 2:45. The sullen server took us to our seat and walked away, looking at her watch several times. She walked past a man who was sitting in a booth (he was not a customer - perhaps owner/manager?) and said something to him. Then he stood up and walked past our table and also looked pointedly at his watch. After this unfriendly reception, the server took our orders. The only good thing I can say about the food is that it was brought out quickly. The server literally thrust my husband's plate of food in front of him, forcing him to quickly relocate his beverage. There was no "excuse me" or any type of pleasantry. There also was no return visit to our table to see if the food was okay or if we needed anything. We felt very unwelcome. One might assume that a business that was empty would be glad for the business, but that did not appear to be the case. To be fair, two other couples came in while we were eating. The food, as I alluded to above, was mediocre. The wonton soup was overly salty, the fried rice was gummy, the twice-cooked pork was swimming in a too-sweet sauce, and the eggroll was so greasy that I took only one bite. My husband's General Tso's chicken was slightly better than my dish, but he ate it all because, in his words, he "was hungry" - not because it was particularly tasty. In summary, a little bit of pleasant customer service would have gone a LONG way toward making this experience one I didn't feel compelled to write a negative review about. We will not be back. Oh, and the fortune cookies were stale.I found this after the fact: http://www.city-data.com…My recommendation: avoid! I can't figure out how this place got 3 stars overall...

I was delightfully surprised to have eaten so well, for so little, with so much flavor and all-around yummyness. The staff was fantastic, the dining area is nice and they have a full bar with what appear to be very reasonable drink prices (will check that out next time!)

Not bad for quick Chinese food. The little old man who owns the place is super nice and a pleasure to visit with.

My rating would really be three and a half stars if I could do that. We get take out from China Gourmet Inn - they are very close by. They do the standard dishes nicely - the steamed dumplings are usually very good. My kids love the steak on a stick. They always let us alter dishes, like using cashews instead of peanuts. Not so good are any of the more complicated/unusual dishes. And the pancakes for the Moo Shu Pork are thick and doughy - which is too bad since the dish itself is quite good. As I said, good restaurant when you want easy take out.?
